Last Myths

„The life, professional presence, and work of Ferenc Kunhegyesi are an important part of our contemporary Hungarian cultural and artistic life. In addition to his creative career and high artistic achievements, we could also talk about his public activity, because in his work he points out the need to recognize and learn about values and interests, as well as the fact that creating the present and future image of minorities and nationalities cannot wait for
itself, since the spirit of the possibility of opening up at a social level is been knocking on our door for a while.”

- Jószef Szurcsik, Associate Professor of The Hungarian University of Fine Arts

He started working with visual art as a self-taught artist, mainly engaged in graphic design.
From the beginning, the duality of humor and objectivity was hidden in his sophisticated depictions of objects and people. Since 2000, he has been a student of Kossuth prize-winning Roma painter István Szentandrássy, thus a follower of the Péli school. The public was able to see the works several times in the master and student joint exhibitions, and later with his independent exhibitions.
In his latest exhibition Last Myths, he presents his latest works, from his large-scale oil paintings to the well-known pen graphics that present genesis stories, myths and existences. The artist connects these in his individual visual language, with brilliant use of color, creating a coherent narrative in the exhibition space.
